NEW SHELTER IN OTTAWA
A new transitional housing facility has opened in downtown Queen Street, housing 140 people, including many new arrivals.
It is the city’s first building to be converted from an office into a shelter.
The 30,000 square foot facility has been transformed into a modern living space with individual sleeping units, a dining area, study areas and 24/7 support.
The goal is to help people stabilize their lives and transition to permanent housing.
